Mission Statement

The Engineering Department is dedicated to providing the citizens of Owensboro with a safe, efficient and reliable roadway network, a properly operating storm drainage system, and a safe and healthy environment. These goals are achieved by implementing the most up-to-date design and maintenance methods and procedures, by specifying state-of-the-art engineering materials and equipment, and by assuring compliance with the Comprehensive Plan, Public Improvement Specifications and Federal and State regulations.
